AcademicDB is a digital degree management platform designed to provide a secure, efficient, and user-friendly solution for schools, students, and government agencies. Our platform is built on a tailor-made blockchain infrastructure that ensures unparalleled security and privacy for our users.
Blockchain technology was obviously the best choice and Aimane was already familiar with the technology. But not every Blockchain is suited for this use-case. After months of tweaking with two different Blockchain technologies, Rodrigo joined the team. He was in charge of the UI/UX of our platform. After the third proof-of-concept our idea was validated and the right Blockchain technology was finally found. That's when Rafael joined our team, a Blockchain specialist who was in charge of finishing the proof-of-concept and make it ready for production. During that time Aimane continued to do more research and the platform was made with an extra focus on the Belgian education system.
How AcademicDB started
It started as a small research project conducted by the founder Aimane Lahssini in 2021. The research project was about the struggles of secretarial assistants in Flemish universities. The first issue was the fact that they were called by HR companies to verify academic certificates. More than 8 universities & university colleges participated to multiple interviews conducted by Aimane asking all kinds of questions about the way those schools woked. And that's when the switch was made to study the entire current academic system of Belgium by starting with the Flemish region. We discovered that there were a lot of issues with the current tools the education sector used. After a couple of weeks of research in French-speaking higher education institutions, we came to the conclusion that the problems and needs were the same. It was time to innovate, but the right technology had to be chosen yet.
